The Rowan Tree UK - Who We Are
We are a small team, with a founder and associates, all self-employed. Let us know if you would like to connect. We are always looking for new Associate Trainers, Facilitators and Consultants. We love partnership work and collaboration.
Sophie Rowan - Founder
Sophie’s background is in education and support work around youth health and wellbeing, mental health, PSHE, sex education, relationships and consent. She has worked in a range of third sector organisations in London, and is a Qualified Independent Sexual Violence Survivors’ Advocate (ISVA).
She has also worked in the NHS in digital healthcare project delivery, and Equity and Inclusion policy development. She has been a board trustee at Freedom4Girls, which is a period poverty charity based in Leeds. Sophie now works at Leeds University, part time, on the ESRC Festival of Social Science, which is a national project. She is also the Practice Manager at The Practice Rooms Leeds. She is training in Breathwork Therapy with Hannah Kendaru of Inspire Breathwork.
The Rowan Tree UK has been brewing for a long time, and was founded in its current form in 2020, partially as a result of the pandemic. See our About page for more about the organisation. The Rowan Tree UK is both a business and a network for like-minded individuals.
Associate Trainers, Facilitators and Consultants
What do our Associates have in common?
Wanting to see society grow into a healthier and more equitable place, where people can find their own work-life balance.
We have direct and indirect experience of worker burnout, sick leave through stress, and managing teams affected by high staff turnover. We use our insight to prevent organisations from falling into the same trap, and to break the cycle of a workplace culture that does not work.
The Rowan Tree UK facilitates a substantial and enduring shift in an organisation, our partnership with you is grounded in resilience. Our ambition is that organisations will be able to self-sustain a healthier philosophy of work.
Our Network and Associates include people from a wide range of sectors and professions:
public sector and local government | third sector, charities and non-profits | community development | primary and secondary education | legal sector & civil and criminal justice | NHS & health and social care services | university sector and interdisciplinary academia | digital healthcare and software development
